A: It is always financially prudent to investigate credit card rates and new offers. The primary purpose is to see how the credit cards that are currently available in the market compare to the credit cards you own and use.

The first place to start in the process of selecting the best credit card offers is to read the credit card terms and conditions in the advertisement or credit card application. Use the information on the new credit card offers regarding the rates and terms to compare to the credit card rates and terms on your cards and then further use this information to analyze your credit needs. Evaluating your credit card needs and uses is a major variable in choosing the best credit card.

By reviewing your needs and evaluating how you use the credit you have, it is easier to decide on what terms and conditions on a credit card may best assist you. O% introductory credit card rates are of little value to the credit card holder that pays off balances monthly or who may gain greater value with credit card rewards programs. Just because the credit card company wants your business doesn’t mean you want their business. Low initial rates may not always be the best choice, greater rewards or the opportunity for a balance transfer may be more valuable.

After checking the terms and rates on the cards and how you use your credit, review the new credit card offers starting with the annual percentage rate (APR). Check the new credit card rate for purchase transactions, balance transfers and cash advances.

Next, take a look at the credit card fees. If you plan to pay off your balance every month, avoid signing up for a new credit card that has an annual fee. If you carry a credit card balance, it may be worth paying a fee if the interest rate is low enough. Compare the fees you’ll be charged for transferring your balance, using your card to get a cash advance, exceeding your credit limit, or paying your bill late as well.

To choose the best credit card, compare your credit needs with the terms offered by the credit card companies and choose the credit card with lowest costs and greatest benefits.

The AccountNow® Prepaid Visa® Card is a prepaid credit card that comes with a variety of features. Prepaid credit cards can help consumers achieve a number of short-term financial goals including gaining access to a card to make online and telephone transactions, access to money through ATMs and budgeting discipline.

Prepaid cards like the AccountNow® Prepaid Visa® Card are not credit cards; accountholders cannot spend more than the balance they have deposited, there is a credit line feature available in this particular card. Prepaid cards from Mastercard and Visa allow the accountholders to load money onto the card and then use it like any other major bank credit card.

To open an AccountNow® Prepaid Visa® Card the card has an instant approval feature and there is no ChexSystems report needed or credit check required. To apply for an AccountNow Prepaid Visa or MasterCard card, prospective credit card account holders will need to provide their name, phone number, email address, social security number, and mailing address.

The AccountNow® Prepaid Visa® Card is free to sign up for and to obtain the prepaid card in the mail. When an account holder wants to add money to the prepaid account, there is an activation fee as well as monthly service charge. If an account holder uses direct deposit to add money to their prepaid card, AccountNow waives the activation fee.

One of the benefits of the direct deposit feature is it can make the access to the funds less expensive than using check cashing services. The card can be safer to hold than cash. If the prepaid card is lost or stolen, the card has the same protection Visa offers all of its customers.

When card account holder chooses to add money to their prepaid account with cash, the store location that is used for this process normally charges a fee for the service and the amount of that fee will vary depending on the store. AccountNow does not charge for adding money to the prepaid account.

To open an account, customers can sign up online or call 866-925-2036 to sign up for the card by phone.

The AccountNow Prepaid Visa Card is one of the few prepaid cards that can report to a credit bureau with its line of credit option. With its iAdvance Line of Credit featue offered by AccountNow, accountholders can borrow money on the account.

The current monthly service fee with the card is $9.95. There is a $2.50 fee for using a U.S. ATM to withdraw money. Other optional fees are also charged for specific card use such as cash advances.

Fees and charges can vary significantly between different prepaid credit card offers. Reasonable efforts are made to maintain accurate information regarding this card offer, however all credit card information is presented without warranty. AccountNow reserves the right to modify or discontinue any product, services or special offers with or without prior notice. Always read the terms and fees disclosure provided by the credit card issuer on their site before applying and accepting a new credit card prepaid card.

Credit cards are a convenient tool for accessing funds and provide services such as building a credit profile, offering rewards and bonuses and providing purchase protection. Compare card features, interest rates, annual fees and all of their services to find the best card to fit your needs.

The Think Visa credit card is a bank credit card issued by Think Mutual Bank. The Think Visa credit card is a standard Visa credit card that allows the account holder to make purchases against a pre-approved credit limit. Credit card limits can be approved up to $25,000.00.

The credit card offers the same low rate for credit card purchases, credit card balance transfers and cash advances. New credit card holders can save money by transferring balances from a higher rate credit card to the Think Visa credit card. The credit card rate on the credit card is a variable rate that is currently between 8.75% to 10.75%, depending on the personal credit history of the applicant. The credit card APR may vary. The credit card rates are determined by adding 5.5% over Prime Rate to 7.5% over Prime Rate.

When credit markets tighten and consumers grow increasingly weary of their debt levels, especially credit card debt, this is the time to clean up any lose ends and unnecessary charges with the credit card accounts.

One of the fist steps to clean up frivolous charges is close some of those enticing credit card accounts. More credit report information sources and financial gurus talk about the potential damage to someone’s credit score if they close out a credit card instead of simply letting it remain open but unused.

It is generally accepted that a credit score weighs the current credit position and the length of time that credit has been available, therefore closing out a long time account can have some detrimental impact. However, the impact from having the account closed is rather small. More important than the loss of the long term rating from the closed credit card account is the damage that may come from excessive credit card debt at high interest rates on an account that is used simply because it is available for use. Potential damage to a credit score and more importantly damage to an individual’s household budget.

For credit card holders that no longer want to use their credit card anymore, the best step is to contact the credit card company to close down your account. By closing the account, the chance that the credit card will be used or that someone else will improperly use the credit card or account number and use it to make purchases is eliminated. This procedure will also make certain the account information doesn’t fall into the wrong hands and you become the victim fraudulent credit card charges or even worse, identity theft. Card holders should also shred the credit card and any access checks linked to the credit card account.

Closing the credit card account will have an impact on someone’s credit score but before anyone accepts the conventional advice, evaluate what your needs are and make an informed choice on what is right for your credit and debt position. Unruly credit card debt and burdensome credit card payments will probably out weigh a lower credit score.

Consumer should also spend some time and review all the charges that come on their credit cards to stop those frivolous recurring charges to the credit card account. Recurring charges like magazines that are not read, credit monitoring services that are of little value and more. When closing the account, the account holder will need to contact any company or creditor that automatically bills to the credit card account. Numerous credit card holders place accounts such as the telephone bill, newspaper and magazine subscriptions, online services, credit card services such as credit alerts and insurance automatically charge your credit card. The credit card account holder will need to contact each company to ask them to stop billing the credit card account and make arrangements to pay the bill with alternative payment methods or terminate the services altogether.

The big step in reducing unwanted charges is to pay down those credit card balances to avoid excessive finance charges. This is of course easier said then done, but ignoring the credit card balance does nothing to help develop a plan, no matter how long, to reduce the burden of excessive credit card debts and payments.

A two part solution for reducing the credit card balance is to work on a household budget to control additional debt and mange the resources that are available as well as consolidating the existing credit card debt. Numerous credit card companies continue to offer 0% credit card rates on new credit cards for a short period of time. Even though the introductory credit card rate may be for a relatively short time frame, a 0% rate for six months on a $6,000.00 credit card balance can yield some very significant savings.

To manage a household budget, credit cards can be employed to facilitate the process, but a budget must be adhered to like the law. All income has to be accounted for as well as all expenses, no matter how small. Using one credit card for all transactions can help to easily monitor the monthly expenses as well as offer the bonus of obtain credit card rewards for all the transactions.

From time to time, credit card companies may decide to change the terms on individual credit card accounts and credit card offers. For example, the credit card company may change the APR on an existing account, or change or add fees. The change may be for a variety of reasons. They may be increasing fees or interest for all their credit card customers. Or they may be changing the terms on an account holder who has paid late or have gone over their credit card limit. Card holders should read all notices sent with the credit card statement or sent separately by the credit card company and use this opportunity to change credit cards and improve your financial position if the credit card terms change is less than favorable.

Card holders that may have questions or don’t like the changes to their account, should contact the credit card company immediately. Be sure to compare the current credit card rate and terms to those are currently available in today’s market, it may very well be time to open a new credit card with more desirable terms. Far too often, credit card holders fail to capitalize on changing market conditions and credit card industry competition by finding a new low rate credit card.
